Dear
Sylvan Park Families,
August 15, 2005
Welcome
to Sylvan Park Paideia Design Center for the 2005-2006
term. I’m looking forward to another fun year with the
faculty, staff and parents under the leadership of our
principal, Mrs. Cheadle.
A
sung by the late Elvis Presley – “A little less conversation
a lot more action” is what is needed this year by everybody
in order to keep our PTA moving forward for a successful
year and to build for the future.
I
want your talents and skills to be known and I want
you to share them with us. So PLEASE get involved
and I encourage you to join our PTA because “every little
bit helps in a BIG way.”.
My
main goal is to initiate the “Home Room Parent Communication
Tree” so that we can effective communicate amongst each
other and assist teachers with mundane tasks that take
away from teaching our children. I will need 2 parents
from each home room to step forward and sign up to be
the point person for their respective home rooms.
I
invite everybody to the following first events:
1)
Friday August 19 at 5.30-7.30 Back To School Picnic
- Pack a dinner & bring a blanket. Lemonade and
Ice Cream Sandwiches will be provided
- Spirit Wear & the CitiPass coupon book will be
on sale.
- Sally Foster Gift Wrap door prizes.
2) Tuesday, August 23 at 6.30-7.30 Welcome Back first
PTA meeting
Sally Foster Gift Wrap Fundraiser Kick-Off.
3)
Tuesday, September 13 at 6.30-7.30 Open House
Meet and greet with your new teachers.

Our
fundraising efforts last year allowed us to secure an
Assistant Reading Specialist for this year. In addition,
the Discovery Garden expanded in to an Outdoor Classroom
with storage and fencing.
I
want to thank my board members from last year and this
year and all the volunteers for their long hours, hard
work and dedication to the PTA because without them
building for the future would be impossible.
Let
me know how I can help you to help our school!
