It’s that time of year again where we band together for our annual INVEST campaign, our biggest fundraising event of the year. From August 25th through Oct. 4th we’re raising money for a vital position (our interventionist), classroom needs, hardship funds, teacher appreciation, and more.
We can’t do it without each and every one of you and your generous spirits to meet our goal.

The Fun(d) Run
|
INVEST is the actual fundraising campaign. The Fun(d) Run was created a few years ago as a way to get the kids excited and celebrate by doing a run around the track at the end of the campaign. They’ll get a “Fun Run” T-Shirt , another popsicle and pride for lots of laps around the track. And a great playlist curated by our very own Coach Scott for a dance party to boot!

Here is What You Can DO!
- Donate - While we suggest a donation of $275 per student, we understand that everyone’s situation is unique. Any contribution made is truly valued. If you have the ability to support not just your student but other(s), we appreciate your support of this community as a whole!
- Ask Friends, Family, Co-workers to Donate - You’d be surprised how many people are willing to support your Panther near and far if you just ask! Don’t hesitate to text, post on social (tag #sylvanparkpto), or engage your family + friends to donate.
- Look into Company Matching: Did you know most companies provide a donation match? HCA Healthcare (for example) not only matches a donation for any 501C but also provides a $200 gift card for every 10 hours of volunteer time completed! Make sure you don’t leave this major benefit on the table!

WHY INVEST?
We all know that sometimes schools are under-resourced and we strive to bridge this gap through fundraising. Through Invest the Sylvan Park Elementary PTO works with the staff and principal to prioritize where support is most critical. The majority of funds from Invest both last year and this year will go directly to support the instructional interventionist position. Why is this important?

The interventionist provides critical educational support in reading and math to students not at grade level

Students who meet or exceed grade level expectations will lose approximately 4 hours of direct instructional time per week from their teacher.

Data reveals that 80% of children who received interventionist support improved their testing scores

Our teachers #1 request from the PTO was to consider funding for an interventionist

In addition to interventionist, Invest funds will also help support other vital school positions, hardship funds, drive innovative learning experiences and fund teacher ideas to improve the way in which we teach and serve our students. As parents, SPE friends, and grandparents we need your help to reach our goal!

We do one large fundraiser a year and the time is now!
Sylvan Park Elementary's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is raising funds to support the infrastructure of the school and it’s requested needs, teacher appreciation, and family hardship funds. Sponsoring Sylvan Park is an incredible way to highlight your commitment to our community.

Submissions for the newsletter: please submit any school-related news, announcements, etc. by each Sunday at noon in order to get it in the following Tuesday's newsletter.
