We are nearing the finish line on our biggest fundraising event of the year. Oct. 5th marks the end of the INVEST Campaign, raising money for a vital position (our interventionist), classroom needs and more.
|
|
If you have been meaning to participate, but have not quite gotten around to it... now is the time!
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Join us Wednesday, October 4th for National Walk to School Day. There will be light snacks, drinks, an official finish line, and more fun as we celebrate at the front of the building before school! Not normally a walker? That’s ok, everyone can participate!
|
How to Participate
- Walkers: Please walk from home like usual!
- Bus Riders: Will be dropped off at a nearby church and walk the rest of the way with school staff.
- Car Riders: We encourage you to join a walking group from McCabe Park or Richland Park! Just park at either park, as we will have volunteers at those locations who will lead a walking group to the school. Please arrive at either park at 7:15AM to join one of those walking groups. Or come later to simply walk on your own!
- Parents - please do not drop off your children to walk (even with a group) - please join them in walking to school.
You can participate from any of the above-listed locations, or simply pick a spot nearby and walk the rest of the way! Now let’s get some family exercise, together!

In September students participated in our first school-wide seminar for the 2023-2024 school year! Our text for this seminar was Elephant in the Dark (based on a poem by Rumi; Retold by Mina Javaherbin). In this seminar we discussed the values of perceptions, truth, understanding, differences, and cooperation. For our post seminar activity, students worked in groups to write and/or draw what working together or solving a disagreement might look and sound like in our classrooms.
