Sylvan Park Social and Silent Auction: Tickets Available Now.

Sylvan Park Elementary Social + Silent Auction
Join us on Thursday, February 29th, 7-10pm, at the beautiful 14TENN building in the Nations.

Tickets:

  • Tickets are $75.
  • Ticket price includes hors d'oeuvres, open bar, live entertainment, and silent auction access.
  • Help us provide free tickets for faculty, staff, and families in need with your donations.

  • Online bidding runs through 9:30 PM on the event night.
  • Funds raised enhance classrooms, technology, student events, and support those in need.

Sylvan Park Book Week: We Love Reading!

Book Week

February 26- March 1st: A whole week to celebrate books and reading!!!!

Each day students are encouraged to dress up to show their love of reading and books.
  • Wednesday Feb 28 - "Read ME Day'' - Wear shirts, socks, buttons, stickers, anything with school-appropriate writing that can be read by everyone during the day.
  • Thursday Feb 29 - "Snuggle Up with a Book Day'' for DEAR Time (Drop Everything And Read) - Wear pajamas to snuggle up with a book for "DEAR Day". Classes will ,Drop Everything And Read for 20 minutes during the day.
  • Friday March 1- "Book Parade Day'' - Come to school with your favorite book. Everyone is encouraged to dress as a favorite book character. We will parade out back around the track starting at 8:10.

Book Parade

On Friday March 1st everyone will bring their favorite book to show in the Book Parade. Students are encouraged to dress as the book character in the book they are carrying! It is not necessary to buy Book Character outfits, be creative and use items in your home like scarves, hats, or paper in new ways.

The Book Parade will be outside around the track behind the school. Families are invited to come to the parade and share in our joy of reading!

If you are coming to see the parade, please sign-in at the tables at the back of the school. 5th & 4th grades will lead our Book Parade starting at 8:10am, each grade level will join in, circling around the track. We anticipate the Book Parade ending around 8:30am.

Sylvan Park's Festival of Learning: March 7th 6-7pm

Sylvan Park's Festival of Learning Featuring

Join Us for Sylvan Park's Festival of Learning Featuring Our Grade Level Groups and Their Learning Projects.

Festival Entrance Will Be in the Back Parking Lot of the School.

Our Sylvan Park Panthers are gearing up for our annual school-wide Paideia Showcase on March 7th and 8th. Our seminar text for this project is the film, "Coin Operated" by Nicholas Arioli.

For our post seminar activity, students will write about something they feel like they would want to spend 70 years learning about. Students are working on projects to showcase at Sylvan Park's Festival of Learning.

Families are invited to visit our festival on Thursday, March 7th from 6-7pm. Students will visit the festival on Friday, March 8th during school hours. Ask your child about this exciting and engaging project-based learning experience!

Sylvan Park 3rd Annual International Night, March 26, 2024

Join us as we celebrate what makes us who we are!

On March 26th, Sylvan Park is hosting an International Night to celebrate the diversity in our school. International Night is an opportunity for our students, families, faculty, and staff to experience the countries, cultures, and traditions found in our community. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

* In the event of rain, International Night will be held on Wednesday, March 27th from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Volunteers Needed! Are you interested in setting up a display featuring your heritage?

Dear Parents and Students,

We are looking for volunteers to host a table or trunk space! Everyone has a culture and a story to tell. Please share yours with us! Your space could feature a country, your genealogy, or your family traditions. (Please register by Wednesday, March 20th.)

It's time to give our teachers some LOVE and show them how LUCKY we are to have them!

March's theme will be, "Our Teachers are 'Cereal-ously' the Best!" with a cereal bar!

Please consider donating an item or if you'd rather we do the shopping, you can donate money here! Please deliver any items to Sarah Grace at 4104 Utah Ave no later than February 7th. Thank you!
