Join us Thursday, August 31st to celebrate your student(s) in front of the school. The event will start at 7:30am and the PTO will provide light refreshments. We hope to see you there!

While school supply shopping is on the brain (& tax-free!) this weekend, please consider supporting our wonderful Art teacher, Ms. Williams, by visiting her Amazon wish list and sponsoring an item or two. 🎨

Help us stock up the Art Room and promote kindness! Students earn kindness points for their class by showing kindness to themselves, each other, the teacher, materials, and the art room. When they fill up their kindness chart, they earn a free art day where I put out a lot of fun activities and supplies for them to use!

All Metro Nashville Public Schools students will receive no-cost meals during the 2023-2024 school year

All Metro Nashville Public Schools students will receive no-cost meals during the 2023-2024 school year thanks to the support of the MNPS Board of Education and the federal Community Eligibility Provision program.

And, while student meals are no cost, families who may quality for free and reduced meals, and whose students are not attending a CEP school are encouraged to submit a Meal Benefits Application because qualification helps connect families to things such as:

  • discounts for fees associated with college applications
  • scholarships and fee discounts for SAT, ACT and AP tests
  • greater federal reimbursement to provide for program improvement

Hi from Theresa Yarber and Sarah Grace! We are so excited lo be the TA chairs this year. We believe that Sylvan Park teachers are the best in the district and we look forward to pampering them this year with your help!


OUR MISSION
We are charged will selling up catered meals for our amazing staff, keeping the lounge stocked each month with special treats and monthly staples, and organizing Teacher Appreciation Week the spring. Please look for monthly updates from us in the PTO newsletters.

STOCK THE LOUNGE

Each month will have a different stock the lounge theme. In order to simplify the process, will be sending out a signup genius bimonthly. We will ask for things flat will go will our theme as well as the basics. Help us stock the lounge and show our teachers how much we appreciate them with an Apple Bar for August AND a Coffee Bar for September.

Please review this arrival and dismissal map to prepare for dropping off and picking up your child. Please also remember to be attentive and be patient – the first few days are always a bit slow but we all adjust quickly!

Tip: When you register for an account, be sure to use your actual phone number. Each time you check out at Publix, you must enter your phone number into the credit card machine to link your purchase to Sylvan Park. Try to remember to do this when you shop!

OR Link up your profile with the Publix App. You can use the app complete your checkout with transactions automatically being attributed to Sylvan Park Paideia Elementary School PTA (see below)

To link your Publix account to Sylvan Park:

  1. Log in.
  2. Click “your account icon in the upper right corner
  3. On your account page scroll to “My Publix Partner”

Kindergarten Summer Screening: 07/25/2023

The Kindergarten team will meet with incoming Kindergarten students by appointment on Tuesday, July 25th. This time together will help teachers plan instruction tailored to student needs starting on the first day of school. It also gives the students another opportunity to meet the Kindergarten teachers which can make for a smoother start to their Kindergarten year!

The screenings will be done one on one with your child and a Kindergarten teacher. The screening will take 10 minutes.
